For this project I want to explore the process of photo transfers. I want to combine the process with my studio concentration of painting and produce a final product on canvas. Conceptually I want to explore the theme of life and death, I recently found out a lot about my grandparents through genealogy research including photos of them when they were about my age, and would like to combine these images with icons people typically associate with the theme of life and death (i.e. skulls and flowers) to create a mixed media final product. I want to explore this concept because after finding the photos I've been thinking a lot about death and how they were my age once and have returned to the earth and how I will someday too. Long story short, I want to explore my morbid curiosity.
